Ph.D. in Forest Resources and Conservation at the University of Florida (UF). Over 10 years of experience working with local communities and tropical forest management, undertaking project management, technical materials and academic publications, and coordination of multidisciplinary teams. Qualified as auditor of FSC forest management certification by the Rainforest Alliance, had developed consultancy work in social and environmental fields, including planning and facilitation of events involving diverse sectors as NGOs, government, private sector, and communities. Her dissertation focuses on decision-making and power dynamics in the governance of natural resources, with a particular interest in timber resources and community empowerment in Brazilian Amazonian protected areas. UF Association for Academic Women (AAW) Emerging Scholar Award 2020 recipient. Has frequently participated in conferences and workshops as a speaker in Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, and the USA.
